Words Of The Wisdomless: Friendship

Words Of The Wisdomless: Friendship:

"Today a FaceBook friend sent me a nice quote - "Friends are like walls. Sometimes you lean on them, and sometimes its just enough to know they're there."

Yes, I had four friends like walls,  BUT... I had to knock them down!!!  I was getting too claustrophobic

Claustrophobia

Claustrophobia (from Latin claustrum "a shut in place" and Greek φόβος, phóbos, "fear") is the fear of having no escape and being closed in. Claustrophobia is not a clinical diagnosis and the technical term for these symptoms is Agoraphobia. It is typically classified as an anxiety disorder and often results in panic attack. One study indicates that anywhere from 5–7% of the world population is affected by severe claustrophobia, but only a small percentage of these people receive some kind of treatment for the disorder.

Words Of The Wisdomless: Build

Words Of The Wisdomless: Build -

"It is never what you do that makes people remember you, it's who you do it to that makes it for ever.  It can come back to bite you and knock you down or build you up and put you in the clouds. Be the builder not the wrecking ball."

Mental health Awareness Month 2010

As a Mental Health Advocate each year for I try and make an extra effort to bring awareness to Mental Health during the month of May.  This will be the 3rd year that I will do the Cartoon-A-Thon.  This is when I draw 31 cartoons about mental health and post them on the site http://mentalhealthcartoons.com

Last year we had a record number of visitors with over 22,823 unique visits just in May 2009.  Over the past year the site has attracted 115,161 peers, providers and caregivers from around the world.

It bring me so much joy that their are so many that like the cartoon enough to keep coming back and even using them in newsletter, book, magazines, blogs and websites.

As an amateur Cartoonist and peer living with Bipolar Disorder doing the Mental Health Humor Cartoons has been my own art therapy and a labor of love.

Over that past year I've been teaching myself to draw caricatures. This year for the Cartoon-A-Thon we are going to draw 31 caricatures of sponsor and people working hard in the mental health community far and wide.

If you want to be part of the cartoon-A-Thon now to reserve your day of the month.

Words Of The Wisdomless: Monday Mood Swings

Words Of The Wisdomless: Monday Mood Swings:-

"I believe the term "Manic Monday" is just a myth! All my Mondays only cycle from depressed to melancholy and I never hit manic... Mondays Suck!"

by Chato B.  Stewart

Mondays are like the splinter under my nail.
On Mondays it rains on my Black Parade.
Never on Mondays do I get good mail.
Depression was made only because of Mondays.
All day long you know it's Monday an no other.
You know I bet It'll be on a Monday I'll die.
So I hate Mondays! Oh, and Tuesdays suck too.
